Actually for a while. I used to do competitions as a child and won a few and did a Poptarts commercial with Jordin Sparks which might be somewhere on Youtube . I don't have any covers online but i might post some soon.
I have a theory that everyone can sing, it's just that they aren't singing the right songs. Look at Katy Perry for example. She's a very good singer. But her voice only truly ever shines in slower songs with minimalistic production. Songs where she has to dance and sing faster, she tends to sound okay or bad. If she ever releases an acoustic album (I'll keep praying), her voice will truly shine.
So everyone has the ability to sing well. They just need a couple of tips.
A little tbh... I preferred it when I was younger and could keep up with the (female) high notes I can sing some of the lower register songs though like One In A Million, Body Party (verses) etc. so it's not all bad
For some reason I can't sing in public though, it's like my vocal chords just clamp shut

Due to lacking any sort of vocal ability whatsoever, I hit the Gwen Stefani or Kelis songs whenever I'm at karaoke. If you can't sing like me, fake it with one of their tracks hihi.
