Interim Reddit CEO Ellen Pao is stepping down, the company announced Friday. Reddit co-founder Steve Huffman will be the site’s new chief executive, while Pao will remain on as an advisor to the board through the end of this year.
Idk the whole situation, but resigning just because there was backlash over a firing (didn't she get her job back?) seems extreme. Unless she wanted to resign before that.

She was universally hated by the entire reddit community AND the entire reddit staff AND the tech journalism community. It's not like she was going to get any work done in the current climate anyway, and she was literally driving reddit even further down the drain than it already was before she got her hands on it. She did nothing to improve it and just angered most of the community and her employees. Resigning was the best thing she could do for herself and for reddit.

She did a great job removing FatPeopleHate, but you would have to step it up and remove other offensive subreddits, which she wasn't going to do. You can't make a decision like that and go halfway.
But slay reddit. Hopefully the site goes in a positive direction and stop with the angry/hatred. Ellen Pao is a human, you don't need to make death threats over a website.

Isn't the whole idea of an Interim CEO is that you bring them in to make unpopular decisions and then when they have done their work, you let them go (but you don't reverse any of those unpopular decisions)?

Reddit has some nice places like the AMAs and AskReddit sections, but then its got stuff like FatPeopleHate, SexyCorpse(or whatever it is), sexyfetus etc You can't blame a sane person for wanting to stamp out THAT type of ****
