Finally had time to draw an opinion, and I'm happy It's a lot more like Ultraviolet, and miles better than the trainwreck TMS. I think my trinity is Back Home, I Found Love and Thunderstruck

Owl City’s fifth album, Mobile Orchestra, arrives this Friday, and it contains the worst music he’s ever made. It might be the worst music anyone has ever made. Mobile Orchestra is so atrocious that you might find yourself thinking, hey, maybe “Fireflies” wasn’t so bad after all. Subjecting yourself to it will likely lead to physical discomfort, emotional distress, and a despair that runs deeper than words. It’s the kind of album that inspires avowed pop fans to reconsider rockism as a life philosophy.

This whole article is a mess
Why do people think it's so edgy to hate on Owl City

He's been getting this kind of unwarranted hate since the very beginning of his career, this is nothing new. Thankfully, he's smart enough to make sure that his music is well suited for tv/film/ad licensing, so the negative reviews don't affect his wallet too much.

Oh yeah I know.
I just find it odd how his music seems to be hated by many.

I really like TMS too.
I think I prefer TMS to this also, however this is cute and I'm glad he decided to release another album and not EPs.

I enjoyed his last EP. Up All Night & Wolf Bite are better than any of the songs on this album though

Wolf Bite is really good!
I really like Verge though... I Found Love, My Everything and Can't Live Without You, that's what I got so far.

Ever since Adam Young hijacked the Postal Service’s laptop-emo aesthetic and turned it into cloying, hollow-headed pap, Owl City has been one of music’s most disreputable artists.
Yep, they're still mad because TPS only had one album (not that great at that, Ocean Eyes was way better) and Owl City enjoyed more success. Now he's not even similar in style and they still can't let it go. I guess you can't fix stupid.

I've been a fan since the beginning (Hello Owl City University!!) this is, indeed, the worst album I have ever heard.

I've been Owl City fan since Ocean Eyes. And I absolutely love this album. For me personally, his only misstep was ATBAB. I loved TMS, and how poppy and summery it was while still retain Adam's personality.
With MO I feel like this is a bit of a hybrid between TMS and UV. Just a bit. I love it though.
The Verge, Thunderstruck, Unbelievable, and Can't Live Without You >>>>
9/10
I still want to see him live one day

Just realized how some parts of My Everything sounds a bit like The Script's Superheroes.
Anyway, after listening to the album these past few days, I still prefer TMS, but this is still good.

Still think this is his best since Ocean Eyes. TMS was a generic mess with hardly any songs that really grabbed me. I really like these new songs with Back Home actually being my favorite.

Back Home is my favorite too. Something about it feels like the perfect mixture of early Owl City and recent Owl City.
