i feel like this was one of the first major missteps of gaga's career. Starstruck couldn't have been a single because it was either that or Bad Romance.
If they released Monster a single in late september in time for halloween/fall and pushed BTW back to spring/summer 2011, where do you think it would have peaked
i saw a top 5 for this with 5/6m sold WW. Especially because she was at her peak celebrity
It was supposed to be a single before Alejandro's delayed video release ****ed everything up. Her commercial for TFM advertises Bad Romance, Telephone, Alejandro and Monster–in that order.
i wanna just dance but he took me home instead
uh oh there was a monster in my bed
we french kissed on a subway train
he tore my clothes right off
he ate my heart and then he ate my brain
Would have wen't number 1. GP favorite after BR and Telephone.
I think it was supposed to be a single after Telephone but she wanted Alejandro instead.
All this Monster hate, why?
It doesn't suck. It written beautifully and actually makes sense.
The references to herself and her music alone is amazing
He ate my heart , no one knew that except die hard Gaga fans.
'I Wanna Just dance but it took me home instead..'
Like that reference alone is everything.
If they released a fourth single from The Fame Monster Gaga's career would have burnt out by the end of 2011. You can't end an era and immediately launch into a new one. (TFM, for all intents and purposes by the label, was a rerelease of The Fame, so that doesn't count.) That's how artists get overexposed.
