The album was scheduled to be released November 18, 2014, by Last Kings Entertainment. It was later scheduled for December 23, 2014, then delayed until January 27, 2015. As of January 2015, the album had been further delayed by issues with Young Money Entertainment and Cash Money Records. Once released on June 23rd... Tygas Gold Album failed to make the Billboard 200.
First Jay Sean left YMCMB, shortly after Wayne tried to leave but has been trapped by law suits, Tyga attempted to leave but was hit by lawsuits, Drake wants out, and threw shots at the label by leaking his own last studio album on sound-cloud, Kevin Rudolph left, Bow Wow left, Busta Rhymes left, the only other Name on the Label who has not complained is Nicki Minaj.
Birdman's Cash Money Records, Once All Powerful Empire Is In Serious Problems.
Tyga even sold LESS than Jay Sean who's album NEON debuted at number 116 on the Billboard 200 chart, with first-week sales of 3,608 copies in the United States and hit 72 on the Australian Music Chart, and sold well in Japan, India, Dubai. Jay Sean was massively criticized for his numbers, as a result he left YMCMB as he claimed the label did not do what a label should be doing, this is now very obvious as TYGA a big name in hip hop and lately in pop culture with over 6 million twitter followers, millions of Instagram followers, his own designer clothing brand, etc has sold WOOD. So surely the label must take some form of responsibility as Tyga has previously sold well first week and had a number of billboard single hits, charting's, and features. In my personal opinion, after giving the album a listen, it's quality is not even remotely close to what Careless World: Rise of the Last King (2012), Hotel California (2013) sounded like, considering Kanye West was the EXEC producer on Gold Album, i thought it would be his best music yet. Also as a Tyga fan, who has both previous albums and seen him live, i had no idea the album even dropped, i just found out today. i don't know if this was supposed to be some kind of surprise release but in all honesty only real Nikkas like Drake etc.. can do that kinda Ish.
But the truth is with Tyga he broke the mainstream because of Rack City, it wasn't really from a growing fanbase like with someone like Kendrick or J Cole. So I wouldn't have the same expectations for album sales from him. But still, it's unbelievably low.
