Moving from pop-country into Max Martin pop was such a RISKY move

Lets be honest she was never country. Apart from Our Song she doesn't have any country songs. The rest is at least 90% pop with a sprinkle of banjo to make it a little crossover. She moved to the safest producer in the industry. Like her teenage girl catering music wasn't safe enough prior to that.

Now Katy... hmm. Super safe as well...

Can't really pick tbh. Probably Taylor though, cause there's no diversity in her songs. She only writes about people who did her wrong.

Taylor. her music is made for the Disney channel. Katy's is a little more nuanced and sexual whereas Talyor's can pretty much be played in any Toys R Us without a problem

I adore Taylor Swift but her stans need to stop arguing that her transition to pop was a risk. It wasn't. Firstly it was a natural progression from country-pop to pop and secondly, going pop will never be a risk. For anyone. It's not a risky genre. It's the most beloved genre worldwide. Releasing an alternative-electronica album would have been risky, but going pop definitely wasn't.

Maybe you should listen again because Teenage Dream has no trap, disco, vocoders and more.
