Wow that's actually really awesome. It can open up a lot of possibilities for poor students. College in general needs to be more affordable. But this is a great step!

I agree. Most colleges these days are like 40k-70k a year.

In the 60's up until the 80's college and universities were pretty much free. If they'd ever cut military spending this nation would have so much!

The thing is we need the military spending, that isn't gonna decrease anytime soon. Expecially since Russia is serving cold war teas pt 2

Community college is already cheap. Do well in high school and you can go for free. Simple as that.

Sure but y'all spend more on the military than nearly all developed countries combined.

It's not that simple. Especially in low income household where school materials can be a burden and individualized attention to a student is scarce.

Home life/stress affects mental health and that can and will affect performance in school.

Well we got military bases in almost every country, you never know when WW3 is gonna break out nnn; if we let our guard down, thats when it happens. It's not like all those developed countries are threated by another superpowers + terror attacks

WW3 won't be happening any time soon for geopolitical reasons.

We spend less on space than just about everything though 😂 even while space advances tend to lead to HUGE benefits to humanity as a whole.
I would rather spend money furthering human progress than fund warmongers and the lazies

I wish I could have gotten free college tbh.

That being said, I'd rather have college be 'free' than to have students go there and get pumped up with loans & the thousands of dollars of debt that comes with them.

To an extent this is true. Although many just love to use this as an excuse for their actual laziness when they do not succeed.

Anyway isn't cc already very cheap? Scholarships and bursaries already exist also.
