Temple University alum Bill Cosby awarding Jill Scott an honorary doctorate in May

Back in December, Jill Scott was under fire for repeatedly tweeting her support of Bill Cosby despite the numerous sexual-assault allegations against the comedian.

On Monday (July 6), reports came out that in 2005, Cosby admitted under oath that he gave women drugs with the intention of having sex with them. Now, Scott's tweets have a new message. She wrote that she is "required" to believe all accusations against Cosby because his testimony proves them true.

She is such a mess. Especially after respectable women like Beverly Johnson came forward and had nothing to gain by lying. Jill should've just kept her mouth shut from the jump if she supported him. In the age of FOX News, everyone has to make their unpopular opinion known.

OT: I understand that she didn't want to assume he was guilty without proof because many black men are convicted or accused without proof. That is totally valid. However, that doesn't mean you have to actually take his side either. She should have kept quiet until proof or a not guilty verdict came out.

Uh, she's actually right though. Everything she said was completely true from top to bottom. She handled this situation the way everyone else SHOULD have handled it tbh. And I applaud her for admitting she was wrong and denouncing him publicly once the evidence came out (as it should be). You all are acting like she was running around in interviews screaming that he's innocent and the 40 women were liars or something. It's innocent until proven guilty, and that's the mantra she stuck by. Kudos to her.
