White people swear up and down that it's Affirmative Action that didn't get them into their top college just because the school admitted like 5% Black kids.
When white people live in a society that implies from the day they are born to believe that they're superior and that you're the whole reason the world spins on it's axis, alot of them have difficulty accepting the fact that given the equal opportunities and equal schooling, minorities perform just as well or *gasp* even BETTER than white students.
Statistics and research are showing that inequality and residential segregation/redlining school districts is still depriving minority groups from equal education and marginalizing them from opportunities. Many white people refuse to acknowledge that historically ghettoes were CREATED to keep minorities away. Affirmative Action is definitely still needed until we can progress towards a society where your sex or race doesn't determine your life chances.
You can't legislate away inequality.
