It takes way more than ~$6M to make an open world RPG sis. ShenII cost $40m-$70m

I agree with Domination that a company backed game being put on kickstarter defeats the purpose.
The purpose of this kickstarter was not to fund the game, but to gauge whether or not the idea was a flop and at least garner guaranteed sales through backers, which is pretty shady but at least people get a game out of it.

I hope that this doesn't create a trend because it will steal attention from actual promising games from indie companies.
Companies that don't have the means or pedigree to court big companies like Sony/Micro/Ninty into funding their projects.
