In terms of singles I'd say GGGB has it, Umbrella was iconic and bigger than any swift song. If 1989 can churn out a few more big hits I might change my mind on this but for now GGGB has it.

In terms of touring, Taylor wins.

In terms of general relevance, I think Taylor has it again, she's quite clearly the biggest musician out right now and has become a massive celebrity. Not to undermine Rihanna, she was very big too so it's quite close but I think Taylor takes it.

1989 was huge only in the US. Outside of it, it was "only successful".

I mean GGGB sold 2 million in the UK, 500k in Canada, 600k in Germany, almost 400k in France. Taylor is never doing these numbers.
