Everytime there is a thread regarding race or racism it gets closed. Why can't we have a mature conversation and not throw a tantrum because you don't like what's being said.
In my thread from earlier people got mad because I said I don't celebrate the 4th of July as if I said "**** America."
Idk I just feel like the members here are so defensive and panic when it comes to race. What are your thoughts?
We're not uncomfortable, we're just sick of it. It causes unnecessary arguments and the discussions usually go nowhere. People didnt get angry because you dont celebrate it, they were upset because you turned the 4th of July into a black issue

I didn't turn it into a black problem. It's a day to celebrate independence. Something my ancestors didn't have until YEARS after.
Your thread about the 4th of July was nonsense, and there was no need for a thread like that on a day like this. Threads about race are created often, so ATRL isn't afraid to talk about race.
Its about independence of the COUNTRY in general not people, learn ur history.

Your ancestors werent free when the United States were formed. Big deal. However YOU are free and have independence. Stop living vicariously through dead people
And no I wouldnt be fuming if a straight person said they are tired of hearing about LGBT problems because I know how irritating and grinding it is to consistently hearing people whining and complaining about the same thing over and over
It's because there's an overwhelming amount of users who don't really listen when they engage in discussions; rather, they just immaturely respond with the same sentence or two to everyone who has a different opinion.
