Azealia Banks isn't fond of how the white gays treat her. And I listened to this interview where she criticized gays and their Stan culture. She had valid points. Why get offended about ****** and call a woman a bitch in the next sentence?

If you wanna be a language gatekeeper and get rid of offensive words. You gotta ride that **** out for everything. Don't pick and choose when you wanna be offended. And who you wanna fight for.

Her words are abrasive, but I find it hard to really think she has a deep seated fear of homosexuality.

Because they actually don't have the same meaning at this point, thus why we can say one on ATRL but not the other. "Bitch" has, basically, become the female equivalent of "douche" in most modern society, a female who also has a HORRIBLE PERSONALITY. Some ignorant idiots use it to describe all females, but they are not the majority and they ARE called out on it. So if you're going to complain about this, you need to complain about people using words like douche as well.

And even if she doesn't actually have an inherent fear/hatred of homosexuality, the words Azealia uses ARE hateful and they ARE inherently derogatory words with 0 meaning beyond said derogatory hate. This women has also made comments about several other groups that are incredibly offensive, and has been repeatedly slammed as anti-Semitic as well.

I think Azealia is just one of those people who can't apologize. Like she's obviously trying to lessen the impact of what she said without actually apologizing or taking any sort of blame for it.

Overall I think Azealia has some interesting stuff to say, some stuff that you wouldn't really hear from a typical "famous" person. She's not coached or particularly eloquent with her admittedly radical thoughts, so its comes across wrong most of the time.

I do think she has done and said some things that she should apologize for, however. I wouldn't call her a homophobe, more like someone who is too arrogant to rectify the hateful words they've spewed.

You're picking and choosing. Bitch is derogatory and language used against women , plain and simple. Where I come from ****** is used for a bitch ass man. And men and women use it in my circle, family, friends, neighborhood. And it's not just straight men, it's gay men use ****** in that sense.

Trying to argue that using ****** is more of a red flag than bitch is...is picking and choosing. And illustrating exactly what I just said. It perpetuates sexism. Feminine and womanhood are depicted as weakness and other than. And the concept has even permeated through the gay community with masculine vs feminine. Don't try and make the word bitch less damaging as ******. They're both damaging words. Our society as a whole has just deemed one a priority over the next. Which doesn't make it any less dangerous.
