this is true. she had a lot of attention back then yet she chose to take too long.

to the people saying Adele...I think Adele is those rare cases were her age won't effect her music and sales. most ppl thought Adele was in her late twenties already when infact she was 19 and 21 when those records were recorded and I think only a year older when the records were released.
plus her imagery and songs are pretty low-key

a great example of this is Shakira tbh. after her 2001 english smash record she took 4 years to then release a spanish record and then she released an english record the same year her spanish album was out eliminating some of the momentum. she still managed to slay but then she took another 4 years to release her 2009 album and since then the commercial decline in the US began. had she released like this:
2001 Laundry Service
2003 2nd English Album
2005 Oral Fixation Vol 2
2007 4th English album
2009 She Wolf
etc etc
things would be much more different
