Lorde will sing on a birthday album for the Dalai Lama as the spiritual leader tries to capture a younger fan base.
The 18-year-old Kiwi singer-songwriter features with Bob Geldof, Kate Bush and Sting on Songs for Tibet II, which aims to raise money for preserving Tibetan cultural heritage.
The album follows a previous Songs for Tibet album in 2008, released amid high tensions in the landlocked territory, where an uprising against China's iron-fisted rule broke out before the Beijing Olympics.
Lorde is one of a handful of new artists on the album, due out on July 7 - the Dalai Lama's 80th birthday. Others include Icelandic folk pop band Of Monsters and Men.
