Dylann Roof’s sister appeals for donations to pay for wedding, honeymoon after church massacre

Update (1:30 p.m.): The Go Fund Me page for Amber Roof has been taken down. Nearly $1,700 had been raised by that time.
The sister of the man accused of killing nine people at Emanuel AME Church has launched an online campaign to raise money to pay for her wedding and honeymoon after a planned June ceremony had to be cancelled in the wake of the massacre.
Amber Roof has started a Go Fund Me page and is asking for $5,000 to “cover lost wedding costs, to pay bills, and to send us on our dream honeymoon.” She pledged to donate 10 percent of the money raised to Emanuel AME Church.
As of this morning, $1,490 had been pledged.
She and her fiance were to be married June 21, four days after her brother, 21-year-old Dylann Roof, allegedly gunned down nine worshippers attending a Bible study at the historic black church, allegedly in an attempt to start a race war. He is being held without bail in the Charleston County jail and faces nine counts of murder.
On her page, Amber Roof said her wedding was supposed to be “the day every girl dreams of,” with the perfect venue and vows ready to be read.
“It was suppose to start our lives together with our new family. Our day was the exact opposite. Our wedding day was full of sorrow, pain, and shame, tainted by the actions of one man,” she stated. “The Charleston Massacre took place and our lives were forever changed. The media abused our privacy and published all of our wedding information and destroyed our dream day. Destroying the first day of Michael and my life together.”
Why not just give that money to the actual victims and family?
An expensive wedding is a luxury, not a requirement. There's a lot of people who don't have expensive weddings, just wait to save up money for that. What about the funeral costs? The loss of a life trumps anything this family misses.
“The Charleston Massacre took place and our lives were forever changed. The media abused our privacy and published all of our wedding information and destroyed our dream day. Destroying the first day of Michael and my life together.”
The lives of the victims and their families were destroyed forever too. Are we seriously supposed to feel bad for her?
I know its not her fault, what her brother did. Although having such a white supremacist POS brother does makes me wonder about the rest of the family.. But this is really tasteless. Stop trying to gain sympathy from a racist terror attack on a church. She's making it all about her
I am not going to feel bad for her having to delay her wedding because her brother killed 9 innocent people, girl there are more important things in the world right now
She got married four days after?!?! She could've postponed it. How messy and disrespectful tbh. Donate the money to the people affected by the tragedy.
