American actress and singer Hilary Duff will be in Colombia in next August to join to the social programs of the Major of Bogota, Samuel Moreno Rojas, who added today that the artist will take part in several events
" We are going to develop a day of vaccination, we’ll invite her to the Idipron (Distrital Institute for the Protection of the Childhood), to the community dining rooms and to the school restaurants where we are doing the program of food safety ", Moreno said to journalists.
He specified that Hilary will be in the capital of the Republic between August 1st and August 15.
He added that the artist will know what is doing Bogota in social matter and will present her program " Blessings in a backpack " which is similar to the distrital program " Haversacks of dreams ", which gives to students of low resources school implements, and is financed by a private company.
"It is very important for Bogota because she’s not only coming to know what we are doing, but also to joining to these programs; people are going to be able to have access to her”, indicated Moreno, who clarified that the visit will not generate any type of expense to the Administration.
The Major Mayor of Bogota will nominate her a guest of honor and ambassador of the youth.
Moreno added that the singer "comes with many journalists and mass media worldwide, which is formidable, because it is going to allow also that these means know the advances in social matter that Bogota has been doing in the last years ".
Duff expresses in a letter her "concerning for the youth of Bogota, as well as her delivery and commitment for improving the living conditions of the citizens in the most vulnerable situations, I feel very happy for supporting these important efforts".
For his side, the co-founder of "Blessings in a Backpack ", Stan Curtis, sent a message to Bogotá in which indicates that satisfies him " to receive the support of the Major ,the city is " a great example " of his philosophy in which when a good leadership guides, wonderful things happen ", he added.
For the major Moreno, Hilary Duff's arrival also helps to internationalize Bogota as sure and attractive city for the tourism and for the investment.
This icon of the music will visit students of distrital colleges, will deliver them haversacks with food, will take part in a day of vaccination and will know first hand school dining rooms.

La actriz y cantante estadounidense Hillary Duff estará en Colombia en agosto próximo para vincularse con los programas sociales del alcalde Mayor de Bogotá, Samuel Moreno Rojas, quien precisó hoy que la artista participará en varios eventos.
"Vamos a desarrollar una jornada de vacunación, vamos a invitarla al Idipron (Instituto Distrital para la Protección de la Niñez), a los comedores comunitarios y a los restaurantes escolares donde estamos haciendo el programa de seguridad alimentaria", dijo Moreno a periodistas.
Puntualizó que Hillary estará en la capital de la República entre el 1 y el 15 de agosto próximo.
Agregó que la artista conocerá lo que está haciendo Bogotá en materia social y presentará su programa "Blessings in a backpack" ("Bendiciones en un morral") que es similar al programa distrital "Morrales de sueños", con el que se entregan útiles escolares a estudiantes de bajos recursos, financiados por la empresa privada.
"Es muy importante para Bogotá porque no solo viene a conocer lo que estamos haciendo, sino también a vincularse con todas estas causas; la gente va a poder tener acceso a ella", indicó Moreno, quien aclaró que la visita no generará ningún tipo de gasto a la Administración.
El Alcalde Mayor de Bogotá la nombrará huésped de honor y embajadora de la juventud.
Moreno agregó que la cantante "viene con muchos periodistas y medios de comunicación a nivel internacional, lo cual es formidable, porque va a permitir también que esos medios conozcan los avances en materia social que ha venido haciendo Bogotá en los últimos años".
A través de una carta Duff expresa que "luego de conocer el trabajo del Alcalde Mayor, su preocupación por la juventud de Bogotá, así como su entrega y compromiso por mejorar las condiciones de vida de los ciudadanos en las situaciones más vulnerables, me siento muy complacida de apoyar estos importantes esfuerzos".
Por su lado, el cofundador de "Blessings in a Backpack", Stan Curtis, envió un mensaje a los bogotanos en el que señala que le satisface "recibir el apoyo de la Alcaldía Mayor." La ciudad es "un gran ejemplo" de su filosofía en la que cuando el buen liderazgo guía, ocurren cosas maravillosas", agregó.
Para el alcalde Moreno, la llegada de Hillary Duff también contribuye a internacionalizar a Bogotá como ciudad segura y atractiva para el turismo y para la inversión.
Este icono de la música pop juvenil visitará a estudiantes de colegios distritales, les entregará morrales con alimentos, participará en una jornada de vacunación y conocerá de primera mano comedores escolares.
