I asked this in the Apple Music Thread like 4 times as kept getting mixed responses. So here I am.

Are they? A lot of people have said that they're the same chart, but others point out if they're the same chart then why is there two of them (ie one you can access through your iTunes Store app if you have an iPhone, and the one under the "New" section in Apple Music). Shouldn't there be one chart that tracks sales and one that tracks streams? The songs on both charts would probably be similar, but not exactly the same. If not, then what's the point of having two charts in two different places?

It's in AM so you can stream the hottest tracks right now. Pretty simple. One place to buy and another to stream what's being bought

I'd think it'd be both. I mean, when you listen to a song offline on Spotify it still counts as a stream.

It is currently the same chart minus the songs not available on AM. It will most probably change in the week or so

They're the same, and I'm personally expecting them to integrate streams and sales into the same chart if they remain the same.

They are the same, iTunes chart positions=Apple Music ones because it's updated like iTunes and it just makes iTunes charts streamable via Apple Music the end.

My best guess would be licensing. I came across Madonna's LAP album and the only song you couldn't stream was the one with Prince. The BB remix might just be sales only right now to give it more umph on the charts.
