Pop girls especially would be completely different. No eccentricities, no crazy outfits and performances, artists would be too scared to break the mold like she did. She threw herself out there and when people loved it, other gworls followed suit. She revolutionized pop culture in the late 2000s and early 10s, point blank.

Music video premieres became eventful again, artists started wearing more outlandish outfits, etc.

It's kinda sad that people who think they know about pop music and its history think that without Gaga things wouldn't be totally different today or deny the impact she had. It kinda just shows they know absolutely nothing about the music they listen to. While that's fine for a casual listener they spend years on this site familiarizing themselves with the ins and outs of music just to come away with knowing nothing

The kind of music Gaga was making in 2008 was completely different than what any other mainstream artist was doing. Electronic music was either very urban or very rock, Gaga was just electronic.

Not to mention how she played a big part in the way popstars looked back then.

She single-handedly made his sound popular in the US and since then Rita, Ellie, Cheryl, Florence, Neyo and Big Sean have done songs with him and he has had plenty of solo hits but ok

Regardless, you're living on cloud denial if you don't think Gaga's absence would have made a difference. Her success alone will have made labels give new artists and songs the green light. That's how it works.

I don't think dance-pop would've been so ubiquitous from 2009-2012 if Gaga never happened. Also, some of today's pop stars wouldn't have dressed outlandishly during those years if Gaga never happened. Katy Perry wouldn't have worn a yellow block on her head at the VMAs if there was no Lady Gaga.

What about rap though?

Above all else this. Gaga really brought smasher videos back to the forefront. Aside from that, she was crucial to the EDM take over and her fashion and style made an otherwise boring period much more exciting. Her dominance was everything: albums, singles, tours, awards and publicity/celebrity.
