Avril was in the last stages of Lyme disease, and in that stage it can kill you. It can also cause permanent nervous system damage that will stick with you for life, and permanent damage to the heart and brain. Due to her being at the advanced stages, most patients will have permanent side effects for the rest of their life, but she seems to think she will have a full recovery. I am sure she will with the money and treatment she's been getting. She said it's an advanced treatment. So good for her, but she could have died, and many in the late stages of Lyme disease can become partially paralyzed for life. It isn't "just" Lyme disease. It's an extremely serious illness, and can become terminal.
