I think what he means is black people have
de jure equality already, i.e on paper, they are by law equal, whereas gay people have just gotten their de jure equality. At least I hope that's what he means,

OT: the gay rights movement and feminism have always disregarded the racial minority members of their movements anyway. Its the reason there's now black feminism because white feminists always disregard the struggles/accomplishments of black women for the most part. Even in the gay community there's so much racism. I'm against this "unity" because once again, like time has always proven they will always remind us that we are black, and by that I mean still 'different' and less than they (white gays/feminists) are.
