The original offered an intimacy which this version has lost among the new instrumentation.
IMO if they wanted to turn it into a ballad, they should have remixed keeping the minimal production of the original first verse and chorus.

It's perfect.

I don't get the hate for this version either. It's way better and it fits the style of the rest of their music way better imo. Definitely single worthy. You guys just hate it because you heard the other version first. That's why artists hate it when their demos/old versions leak before the song comes out. At the end of the day, at least we now have two versions to listen to. If you don't like this one, the first one still exists.

I know bby. I wasn't saying that it leaked. I was just drawing a comparison with having multiple versions of a song out before the final version is released. It happens a lot with smaller acts before they get big. They redo their best songs after getting signed, but fans always hate the final version because they've been listening to the original for too long.

This version seems more cinematic but I still prefer the simpler production of the first version. Not a fan of that weird vocal effect either.
