In the US she's surpassed it, in non-English speaking countries they're both kinda irrelevant so idk but in the UK, Beyonce is still the bigger celebrity although Taylor is the more successful artist now

Beyonce has a longer career and has been consistently an A-grade pop girl, debuted in 1997. It's not like Taylor was born yesterday, but still she debuted in 2006 and only became hugely successful in 2009-ish. Any comparison made between them is just not fair, because right now it still feels like they belong to different generations. Beyonce has made more impact because she has been around and on top for much longer. Though if you think about it, there's nothing in music Beyonce achieved that Taylor hasn't, or even outdone Beyonce.

But still as I said, Beyonce now seems like a bigger star than Taylor is.

Adele with 21, Britney with Oops or whatever her debut is called, Rihanna with Loud, Beyonce with I Am Sasha Fierce, Lady Gaga with The Fame/Monster, and now Taylor with 1989

After this era is over the crown will be taken off and everything will go back to status quo and everyone will realize that having a successful pop era doesn't make you the queen of the industry. That takes multiple memorable eras, talent, quality, pop culture moments, success etc

Taylor has three huge eras in the US. She gets more massive with each era. I don't believe in this crown stuff, Taylor has a large niche that she dominates in.

She's the only artist to have three albums debut with over a million and sells 4 million an album.

The american public is starting to hate Beyonce as well. Taylor is younger, and more successful than her. She also naturally has more influence than Beyonce who has to try really hard to get attention.

taylor will never be close to beyonce, maybe her sales are better because taylor is a pop girl who plays it safe but she doesn't have iconic moments, or anything iconic about her that will catapult her into pop supremacy like how beyonce has. i can't at how much this forum wants to make taylor swift this "queen" for now just because maybe she's got a great selling album, but she'll never meet the super stardom that beyonce brings.

beyonce is in such demand whereas taylor is only in demand when she's got music out. people love taylor's music sure, but beyonce will always have the total appeal that makes her a "superstar" and taylor will never have that because she doesn't do anything different, she doesn't evolve (don't tell me her making pop music is her evolving because her previous music was still very much pop) and she doesn't do anything trendsetting.

taylor swift gets away with being mediocre and that doesn't reach beyonce's 'stardom' because beyonce is far from mediocre.
