Why does she have to apologize? She meant "gay" as "stupid" in the song, which is indeed foolish, but she isn't hostile towards gay people.
Not to mention that this happened 8 years ago. Would you ask Taylor Swift to apologize for something stupid she has done 7 years ago too?
The fact is, Katy has been one of the most vocal proponents of gay rights in the 21st century. She has made use of her enormous power on social media to fight for a good cause. What have Taylor done, besides writing ambiguous lyrics like "boys want boys and girls want girls"?
I just find it very strange for Taylor stans out of all fanbases to accuse Katy of being homophobic at one point in her career when Taylor isn't even that vocal on gay issues.
There is literally nothing homophobic about Ur So Gay or I Kissed A Girl, not sure why they're being brought up / cosigned by the usual suspects actually. Just making you look uneducated, I guess.

How is that obvious? Read the lyrics again. She means "gay" as in "effeminate". But it's not like she said that every effeminate person is gay since the song does say 'but you don't even like boys'. It's just a novelty song that some people took too seriously although that was her intention (making those kind of people very angry). That's why she has yet to apologize and she already stated the reason.
