If it continues to chart for nine more weeks, Born to Die will be among the ten all-time longest charting female albums. Ultraviolence is also continuing to rise and still has not fallen off the charts after 50+ weeks. Why such great longevity?

Talent trumping sell-outs?

Born To Die is a modern day masterpiece and one of the best albums of the last 15 years- that's why it sold so well + continues to sell and be a streaming giant.

UV was disappointing but still good. It sold b/c BTD did so well. Her next record will flop if it's not great in quality.

Ultraviolence is an excellent album, she has a star power and huge fanbase.

I guess social media. It's amazes me to see how well she does with zero radio support and promo.

UV received critical acclaim (and made dozens of best-of-year lists) while BTD received polarized reviews, though. Lana just seems to have album longevity.

Lana's fanbase is basically internet users so they stream her albums a lot and also adult people who still buy albums...she doesn't need promotion because her fanbase is kinda big and loyal.

She has great music for a pop girl

Also, her albums are very listenable throughout, unlike gaga/Katy/bey and others where they have unlistenable filler and are TOO loud. Lana is one of those artist where you can go on spotify, and play one of her albums and listen to it sll without touching the station

They claim she's a tumblr artist, but theres tons of tumblr artist that stay there and they cant even sell for ****. Lana started like that but she went mainstream and she has a big ass fanbase, she toured for 15k-20k for a month or two.

Well. She was basically a tumblr artist until Born to Die's release and somehow she got attention for the great public in a whole. Plus, her music is really enjoyable to listen and has the "retro" sound and image which a lot of older people like.

Because BTD is flawless.

She's very well-liked. Its "cool" and "hip" for girls and gays to like Lana. She's become a brand without trying hard.

You can't just be a tumblr artist and be so huge globally. Maybe it exposed her to new people, but she obviously evolved from that. There are many artists who are popular on that site but cannot sell a fraction of what Lana did with one album.

Born To Die is flawless. The rest I don't know.
