The point of marriage was originally between a man and a woman, I stand by that.
However, legally marriage is recognised by the state, not God, so it's right that civil marriage be available to everyone. It should also be open to polygamy, but that's a completely different thing.

and since when was your area representative of the world? there are gay/bi people are all over the world and they're not all disillusioned christians, which is like the stereotypical profile of a gay white or black american. ask a gay activist in thailand or india and she's likely to be spiritual at least.
that's irrelevant to what you said before. you specifically said marriage is a religious act, which it's not since the first marriages in the world weren't weren't related to religion at all. it was about being practical. a woman would be taken care of and so would the child through a marriage. today it's the same. there are benefits related to marriage and gay people have pushed for marriage so they would get the same rights and benefits as straight couples.
