Why does ATRL treat CRTFY as a "Pretty-Girls"-Sized Flop?
Yes, a song by two of the biggest global names of music (Shakira and Rihanna) could have been much bigger, but "Cant Remember to Forget You" is far from being a complete flop. Why does ATRL treat CRTFY as if it was the biggest flop when it actually did pretty well worldwide?

Critical Reception
MTV praised the song and complimented its "Latin and Island flourishes", continuing to compare the song to "Locked Out of Heaven" by Bruno Mars and Shakira's and Beyoncé's previous collaboration "Beautiful Liar." The Guardian found its melodies catchy, and praised the song for keeping away from electronic dance music, noting Shakira's return to "guitar-tinged new wave pop". VIBE magazine praised the duet calling it a "powerhouse collaboration", concluding, "The she-wolf and Bajan bombshell’s chemistry seeps through the bass line and their accented vocals, sure to make both stanbases happy." Jason Lipshutz of Billboard noted the song as being "enjoyably grandiose", praising the "ska-punk guitar riff" and its "chunky rock arrangement." Popjustice gave the song a positive review saying, "You cannot go wrong with a bit of Shakira. You cannot go wrong with a bit of Rihanna. Two facts for you there ladies and gents
Because ppl expected more. I remember when I got the news of my two favs collabing I legit had a heart attack. I also loved the song (although hated the chorus) but I knew it would not do too much damage on the charts. Ppl were thinking it would have beautiful liar 's level of success
Believe me, if it was about quality, there would be whole ATRL sections just to drag the whole vevo channels of most of ATRL's pop girls.
lol, true, but you have to consider people will stan for the most awful **** if it smashes (Shake it Off, Roar etc), but middling/ok numbers aren't enough for the success stans to come out and elevate it into some kind of masterpiece. Thus, this song is ignored.
