Previously on Survivor: ATRL Edition (Season 5), the 14 remaining castaways were returned to camp ready to continue the fight. Round 9 had the castaways bringing the bridge back in a public vote open-ended round. Overall, some swam while others only managed to doggy paddle.. In the end Tribe Strujala took the win while Tribe Mawimba placed second sending Tribe Dalgani to Tribal Council for the second consecutive time. Before Tribal Council, Tribe Dalgani was informed they were being dissolved after Tribal Council into the two other remaining tribes due to lack of members. Meanwhile on Redemption Island, Guero took the win ending genetic fail's streak of wins. At Tribal Council, Bey_RihStan & wesleywalrus tied in votes leading to the firs tiebreaker of the season. Their fates will be revealed this episode. What will happen this episode on Survivor: ATRL Edition?
Welcome castaways to Round 10 of Survivor: ATRL Edition (Season 5)! This is the last round before the Merge so a lot is at stake this round for everyone. Placing 13th is quite the bummer when you're so close to the Merge. Let's see what your final pre-merge round has in store for you all...
The theme for Round 10 is...
Money Can't Change Me ~By the glamorous, oh the flossy flossy~
This round we are focusing on fame and fortune and remaining real to yourself despite it all. Your song this round should display newfound fame with your artist making claims that they are still the person as before despite a new lavish lifestyle. Your track should pay homage to remaining grounded despite living life in the first class. Point is your artist is still that girl/guy they were before.
What To Do:
As always. PM the artist and title of the song you are submitting. No explanation included.
To the one person on Redemption Island, you may send a song as normal as it's not fair to make you choose last when no one else is on the island with you currently.
Take Into Consideration:
The panel will judge the audio/lyrics of the track you submit. Music videos will not increase or decrease your score as some music video plots differ from a song's true meaning.
The theme is what is important here. You will not receive a low score because you sent in a song one of the judges does not like. Taste will most likely only be the determinate in whether you receive for example a 8.5 or 9.
The song you choose should display the meaning upfront. An interview with your artist clarifying the meaning of the song will not be taken into consideration.
Judging Scale (May Vary By Judge):
9/10 - Great entry. Track displays the theme given head on.
8 - Good entry. Displays theme well but not as well as others.
7 - Okay entry. Fits decently but is missing something overall.
6 - Somewhat tackles the theme but falls flat.
5 - Track mentions theme but is otherwise off-base.
3/4 - Song does not hit the theme given.
1/2 - Song has to do with a completely different subject than the theme.
The example for this round is "Glamorous" by Fergie feat. Ludacris off her debut solo album 'The Dutchess'. Lyrically, the song represents a contrast between fame and reality as Fergie talks about her new lavish lifestyle as well as how she is still real despite all of that. She makes references to still eating junk food and how record sales can't change who she is before thanking her fans for all they've done for her.
Quote:
I be on the movie screens
Magazines and bougie scenes
I'm not clean, I'm not pristine
I'm no queen, I'm no machine
I still go to Taco Bell
Drive through, raw as hell
I don't care, I'm still real
No matter how many records I sell
After the show or after the Grammies
I like to go cool out with the family
Sippin', reminiscing on days when I had a Mustang
And now I'm in...
The deadline for this round is June 27nd at 8:30 PM PST Timezone.
