She's 82. We've seen how the judges appointed by Obama have voted. Should she retire and allow Obama to appoint someone else in her place? Or stick it out and hope that whoever wins the next election will appoint a good judge?

Well, in actuality, they're not impartial. They're either very conservative (Thomas, Alito, Scalia, Roberts, maybe Kennedy) or liberal (Sotomayor, Kagan, Ginsburg, Breyer, I'd argue). I mean, they're nominated and confirmed by partial politicians, so that's an inherent bias right there. lol

And the conservatives do not always vote as one (not even mostly). Justice Antonin Scalia (appointed by Ronald Reagan and considered to be one of he most conservative judges of all time) has time and time again sided with liberals on a lot of issues. Like the rest of he judges, he does not let his ideology cloud his judgement

We have Obamacare and Gay Marriage, yes, but they were close decisions. 5-4. If Ginsburg had not been there but another Scalia, then that decision would have gone the other way.

It's always KNOWN how judges are going to judge based on their track record. I guess my question should have been; "To guarantee the court has another liberal or moderate judge, should Ginsburg retire now?"

She can't. The GOP really thinks they have a chance this next election, and they would simply stall the confirmation until after the election.
