I don't think that's always the case. Like if a child dies or a really beloved character, its sad too.

I don't know. I don't get sad when animals die in movies, just upset. It's such a cheap way to get an emotional rise out of people, I just roll my eyes.

Like in Insidious, the old lady's dog had me worried throughout the entire movie.
