These are arguably the two most popular and longest running (I think? I can't think of any horror movie that got more than two sequels in the 10s, correct me if I'm wrong) horror franchises of the decade. What franchise do you think has better, scarier, more consistent and less predictable movies as a whole?

I prefer Insidious by a longshot, even though I love Paranormal Activity. The first Insidious gave me nightmares for literally months Mostly because I used to share a room with my brother and his name was Dalton too the second one was kind of confusing and somewhat less scary, but I was still terrified. The third one was also great, imo. Paranormal Activity is more hit and miss for me, especially 4. The Marked Ones was flawless though and I'm sure the finale will slay.

Anyway spill the tea. What franchise is better? What one is scarier? Maybe another franchise of the 10s I forgot to mention? Poll coming.

Insidious and it's not even close

Insidious was a bland Poltergeist rip-off with a few goods scenes. The second and third were fun.

The only good Paranormal Activity was the third. The rest are awful.

Insidious blatantly ripped off Poltergeist and literally every PA film is trash, so.. Britney Jean.

Wrong Turn technically has 6 films, half came out in the 2000s and half came out in the 2010s. I'd take that over both (excluding 6, anyways)

PA3 and The Marked Ones were really good but 1,2 and 4 are trash. I enjoyed all the Insidious films so those but my favorite out of all would have to be PA3.

What rip off? I haven't seen Poptergeist since I was like 8.

Insidious. The only PA movie that can even compete with any of the Insidious movies is the first one.

Insidious 3 was a great movie with so many "jump" moments, which is what I look for in these movies. Paranormal activity is too boring.

Insidious, of course. The second movie was one of the best horrors that the horror industry gave us this decade along with Sinister and It Follows

PA movies legitimately scared me as an adult and no other movie has done that to me since i was like 8 years old or something. i want to watch the insidious movies but when i watch the trailers all i do is laugh at it so i know i'll have a bad view of it already going in and i'll come away from it thinking it was stupid.

for some reason that blair witch style of horror movie just works on me.
the people who like insidious usually lilke stuff like sinister or the conjuring as well and while the conjuring was ok , sinister was just laughable to me

Paranormal Activity 1, 2, & 3 are all better than Insidious 1, 2, & 3.

Paranormal Activity got a bit worse with 4 and the Marked Ones though. But their first three slay >>>>>>>>
