Tbh I love it. It has a classiness to it that is completely in Janet's style. All those who ran in here to say they didn't like it, seem to me to be a little shook. This song comes hard with a mature sound that is just what radio needs right now.
Not at all. it's a good mature sounding song. Radio needs something that isn't catering to the worst music has to offer for once. There are only so many self centered BIM EDM Pretty Girls type songs that can go on one radio station at one time and plus music feels like it needs something new/different from what we've been getting for the last 10 years. It's like EDM overkill. No doubt that this will have a EDM and hip hop remix.
However, people are getting bored with what constitutes current popular music today. That's all anyone is giving right now. I'm glad Janet didn't just throw out what people were expecting and she is doing what she wants. People hail Thats The Way Love Goes but lets be honest, that song couldn't survive in today's market....or it'd have an uphill battle.
This is really just the pendulum swinging back the other direction musically...because EDM and pop music in general has gotten boring and stale save for Taylor Swift.
@ me listening to the whole thing wondering when the hook was gonna come in and then it ended. I hope the rest of the album is better but this is not a lead single. Filler quality at best, bye Jan.

fff
So it didn't cross your mind that the part repeated about 3 or 4 times was the hook?
Is it one of her best singles ever? No.
Will it smash? No.
but I like the song and it's a good comeback single for the fans even though it wont be a hit
OP spilled the truth tea but I don't want to pollute janet's threads every day with my negativity. I guess I'll let the stans have their own moment. It sounds just like any other janet slow jam on her 00's records that no one gives a s*** about. Just because it's her signature RnB slow groove doesn't mean it's on par with her previous lead singles. It is a very generic song with no proper melody or hook or build up or layers.
