The lyrics are very Lana, certain words and phrases she's infamous/criticized/praised for using so often. Think Wildest Dreams by Taylor too. Not saying Lana invented any of it but yeah.
Her voice in first verse does have a Dido tone too I realize.

I noticed her voice sometimes has a slight Dido tone to it way back when I first heard Ghost Of You
Music these days is sad. Every pop man, woman and child is using the R&B fad (see: JB, Miley, Ariana, etc) at some point and finding success, an audience, etc. Meanwhile, actual real mainstream RnB artists who can actually sing (yes, I am aware Ariana is competent) and do this way better are all but extinct.
