Beats sold solely on marketing. They have one of the best teams out there. It was in almost every music video, constantly on tv ads and so on. With a huge price tag, sleek look, and a look of durability it sold on that alone. Along with the name of Dr. dre.

I doubt the people who buy beats buy it for sound quality, they buy it because it looks cool and they think I'll make them look cool.

I always told people that 90% of Beats' price is for advertising, only 10% for actual materials/quality. I had no proof and thought I was severely exaggerating to get a point across. But I clearly overestimated that piece of junk

iPhones aren't nearly as bad. The iPhone 6 costs $200 to make when they sell it for $650. Considering R&D, marketing, profit margins, etc. that's pretty fair.
