Russia is only providing Syria with weapons, but wouldn't lay one soldier in their grounds, and that being said, Syria can't let the US in because that'd most likely turn it into another Iraq without anyone to back it up.

Otherwise, the US wouldn't give a ****, much less offer help. It's all about oil and resources, in the end.

Why else do you think no one cares about troubled African countries? Because they have nothing that the US can exploit them for. Syria and Iraq do.
