Why is one pronounced as "wan", not "oh-ne"?
Why are the spelling and pronunciation of "one" so strange?

Because in English we don't sound out every letter individually

French people pronounce it the other way. Meuricans always have to do everything differently in the most weird ways.

Actually, should it sound like "own"? Why does it need to be two syllables in your definition of the pronunciation? And for that matter, why isn't "two" pronounced like "twoo" or "two" like it's spelled or four pronounced like "foor"?
