No, like yall are making a big deal because they are dogs and yall have them as pets, thats the only reason, not because they are killing animals.

I don't personally eat beef or pork, so big macs are out of the question.

And I live in Australia - we are world leaders in animal welfare & have amazing sources for meat where the animal actually gets to live a free-range, non-factory life. Not to mention, we aren't boiling them alive.

Like I said, not trying to change people's traditions, just because I disagree with it. But we CAN and should attempt to change the process to make it more ethical.

And you cant compare the Yulin fest to Western methods of meat production.. Whilst we are working to strive for better quality of life for our animals bred for produce, most as far as we are aware dont get boiled, skinned and cramped in tiny cages (minus the battery hens, which is absolutely terrible for that matter)

And i bet the majority of people who are making a big deal out of this are eating a piece of meat from another animal or ate during the day.

What most of you are failing to understand is that this tradition came from times of the Chinese as well as other Asian groups believing that eating dogs have health benefits. Plus, let us not forget that desperate times call for measure. The consumption of dogs became a big thing during periods of starvation and war. Stop forcing western views on people especially when you know absolutely nothing about the event in the first place.

But that doesn't make it any more acceptable than it should
