I don't feel like ADELE is a part of this discussion, considering they likely won't have to worry about income with how her album will open.

If anything, I interpret this as since ADELE isn't releasing anything until 2016/17, and they've already noted they're losing money because she didn't release in Q4 2014, they need to withhold from partaking in this during the trial to salvage any ADELE-less coins they can get.
