It's really disturbing the lengths so many white people will go to defend or look for reasonable doubt for even the worst white mass murderers, but I'm getting to the point where I'm not even surprised anymore. This is how this society is conditioned to protect a power and privilege whether you realize it or not. The man confessed in his own words that his motivation was race, but it's still not enough for you.
Oh no no no! There must be something else, this poor kid was failed by his parents, society, bullying etc.
So many people are trying to "research the facts" and go through his whole life story and psyche, but what it all comes down to is.....
You don't have empathy towards black people.
You just don't.
And you don't believe white people are capable of carrying out heinous crimes without the excuse of an external source to blame, while a black 17-year old can get shot for walking home carrying candy and is blamed for his death for wearing a hoodie. So instead of balking at members for reiterating his own motives, understand, think, and change your approach. Check your biases. Reexamine your thought processes. This is the first step YOU have to take. This isn't about politics or gun control either. You can't legislate away bigotry. YOU have to ACTIVELY COMMIT to not being an ignoramus.
