I don't think anyone would think rice and beans. For the lowest of people, I'm sure they think of a caricature like:
and burritos, tacos, etc. Even if I just stopped there, there's iconic traditional clothing and food that everyone has tried. I'm not sure North Korea has either or any cultural exports (by no fault of the people.) There's the Day of the Dead which every year is being exploited more and has spread some iconic looks (that sugar skull face), **** we don't actively think about like piñatas, and iconic people like Frida Kahlo (one of the only famous female artists.) Plus beach destinations which for many are a staple of growing up. That's kind of a brief, but there's also a lot of negative stuff related to the drug cartels. I wouldn't call that iconic, out of respect, but it's widely known.
Also, Aztec + Maya civilizations which both still have cultural relevance. Just a few years ago there was all that end of the world business. There's so many big budget movies and video games, made about the things I listed. Even ****ing pinatas.
