Hindsight is a great thing though, most people nowadays would include Like A Prayer and True Blue pretty high up there, Erotica too.
At best, it's her seventh most acclaimed album as of right now, which is pretty good for Madonna, especially considering how bad Hard Candy and (especially) MDNA could be, but it is not one of her most acclaimed albums. Maybe time will be good to it, but I don't see it passing Confessions/ROL/Music at all.
Of course. She can't get a U.S. #1 album or chart on the Hot 100, her Instagram doesn't even have 20 million followers, she can't even break a Vevo record.

Like a Prayer was highly acclaimed. Madonna (debut) and TB were also received favorably.
Yet the video is at 5 million views in 1.5 days , the album rebounded from outside top 1000 on the US to #167 and the song went from # 700 to 89 .

She's worked incredibly hard for something she still clearly enjoys doing, even if it's not as successful as her past work. Why should she "give it up" because some people think her work is distasteful for her age?
I'll take BIM over AC easy listening crap, great American songbook records and Vegas residencies any day.
