I read all books this winter and it was sometimes painful to see them being raped this season. But I still think the show is OK. It followed most of storylines I was interested in. The only change I cannot stand is Sansa. She was the most boring character in books and after getting some "action " this season she's still boring.

Because they turned the fan-favorite Sand Snakes into yet another horny woman who couldn't wait to take her clothes off for yet another ugly, grimy unwashed guy when that has NOTHING to do with the plot or their characterization. Just another stupid line about sex because they couldn't get her to show her boobs (again).

After how they butchered Stannis' characterization* this season? Yes.

It's your own fault for thinking a ten episode, hour-long show could follow novels as closely as possible especially considering how many plot lines were introduced in the later novels. Starting from season 4 D&D consolidated stories and cut ones that they knew wouldn't have any great effect on the endgame.

They could've just left them out and put in the REAL loss this season, Arienne.

the main source of the problem is just the pacing issues, imo. the previous seasons mainly focused on one book per season whereas for this one they were trying to condense the best part of two books into one season.

it's lead to the show becoming more focused on tackling large plot milestones rather than addressing some much-needed characterisation (stannis, sansa). they could have benefited from some longer or even more episodes.

plus dorne didn't help his season's case whatsoever

Take out all the nudity and you'd have 5 extra episodes to tell the story.
