Has Game Of Thrones gone downhill? I feel like the writing has deteriorated heavily since they stopped using source material from the book. The characterisation is inconsistent and terrible, the finale was rushed & messy.

Am I a delusional, pressed fan of the novels? Or has the show gone downhill? Discuss!

UM. The deaths of three people, whom did not die in the novels. The fact that they are making the sand snakes psycho vindictive psychopaths. Dropping in lines such as "You like a good girl, but you need a bad *****". The show has turned into a hot MESS.

Although season 4 wasn't terrible, I definitely thought it didn't match the quality of the previous three.

IMO: Season 1 was flawless & acclaimed. Season 2 was amazing also. Season 3 was OKAY.

Yes. It shows her gradual slow rise in confidence & wit. She learns the game of thrones from Littlefinger while in the safety of the Eyrie. I don't mind what they are doing to Sansa's character in the television show, but it does not relate to her character in the novels at all. Like, making her get raped out of obvious try hard shock value.

They've basically slaughtered most of my favourite fictional personalities.

And PLEASE. Would Jon Snow from the novels ever fall for that trap, when he knew that the Nights Watch were being shady "Oh your uncle is outside Jon!!". Hence why HE (not Sam) insisted that Sam was to go off to become a Maester as he was the only man on the wall he could trust.

The writers could make up for it, if they get Jon to warg into Ghost. That would be redeeming. The series presents no correlation with the novels as to how Jon wargs with his direwolf though, sadly.
