I used to watch both. Started watching Family Guy when I was like 9, South Park when I was probably 13. I only really watched them because they were always being syndicated and we had 9 real channels so I pretty much watched whatever was available to me.
Yes, but I'm interested to know why you're asking atheists specifically? Do you think maybe kids who grow up watching these shows will become atheists because they make jokes about religion in the shows? Or do you think religious kids wouldn't be allowed or just wouldn't want to watch these shows?
Most of the characters in both shows are Christian, and they do a great job at showing you can find religious people of any kind, they're not necessarily all good people or all bad people. They're not all idiots and they're not all intelligent. Cartman and Butters are both Christian, yet they're almost polar opposites in personality, which I think represents real life, since you have terrorists and humanitarians belonging to the same religions.
