Let us not Pretend that what JT did early in his solo career was urban music. Event 20/20 is fairly borderline

I'm pretty sure JT's sound is the "Urban" he'll be going for. I doubt he's going to be pumping out Trey Songz b-sides.

People would have already forgotten about him by then.

It had a rhythmic style to it, that could pass for urban. Obviously helped by Timbaland and Pharrell productions. Hence urban stations playing his songs, his and NYSNC later videos being featured on BET/106 and Park. Even Slave 4 U was lightly played on urban radio and charted on R&B charts cause of its sound.

Just cause you have a One dimensional view of what is "urban" doesn't mean its true. That demographic and audience will decide.

That's the common opinion. Just like the same people certain 1D would be forgotten "by then" before every record breaking album released.

In this day and age being forgotten is hard. See Omarion coming out of nowhere with a smash hit, for his format and audience. With streaming accessibility and Zayn being who he is, if the music is good, how long it takes isn't really an issue.

Plus he'll still be young and viable for radio play.
