And why is that so bad? Personally it makes me feel WANTED and NEEDED. It makes me feel important and powerful.

Celebs shamelessly exploit the straight community with their sexual appeal. In my eyes 'gay pandering' is no different. We are finally given attention and becoming a demographic that is now seen as equally important.

The act alone promotes openness in the straight community. I don't think they have to become a full fledged lgbt+ activist to appreciate the gays.

I don't think it's bad when you also raise awareness in return. Like people accused Gaga of pandering to to the gays, but she also raised loads of awareness so it's not bad.

This is compared to people like Nick Jonas, whom all he does is get the gays thirsty and proclaim he "loves his gay fans", but never really doing anything meaningful

I don't think celebs are obliged to become a gay activist to appreciate the gay community. It's just nice to be included ya know? Among the straight girls male celebs focus on seducing.

Like even if they're "using" the LGBT community like some of you claim, it's still beneficial because they're showing support and trying to end homophobia by showing you can be straight but not narrow. I don't know what's the big deal.

Well again, the same can be said for the straight female fans.

Nick had been donating and supporting the LGBT community for years, the only reason you start to notice now is cause he took his shirt off. And people have the NERVE to think that photoshoptsnd was in any way, shape or form a way to pander to a gay audience the absolute delusion and self absorption. That was meant for teen to middle aged women, aka basically his entire fanbase.

As long as the artist is raising awareness to issues in the community, I don't have a problem with it.

EVEN if it is a scam and they don't like the gays, in the GP's eyes they do and that is what's important. They are promoting openness in the straight community.

Taking off your shirt at gay clubs to gain interest and in turn coins reduces us to the stereotype that we're all about sex and no substance. But I can't say what Nick is thinking but saying "I love my gay fans" all the time isn't really saying much.
