Sonically, the song is the “opposite” of Morning Phase, Beck explained. “It started out as a heavy garage rock thing and became much more of a dance — some kind of hybrid.”
Beck said he felt compelled to release “Dreams” now so that his audience will be familiar with it once he returns to the road next week.
Of the new album, Beck said he’s been working on it for a few years.
