Magnificent performance Jasmine Thompson - Adore ... Live
My interest in this fast rising artist has many elements:
1. She is fourteen years old which is an interesting time of development for a human being ... So that is my scientific interest.
2. How people relate to teens in society today lacks dignity as age discrimination is hidden from view ... My interest as a humanitarian.
3. Music in my lifetime has been a perfect and consistent form of entertainment for me personally.
4. Jasmine Thompson has replaced Sarah McLachlan as my favorite voice in both tone and sound.
5. I am writing a YA dystopian novel, 2037. It is based of the struggle of intelligent young teens asserting their desire for global constructivism against the dire reality of adult mercantilism and its destructive tendencies.
The novel portrays an alarmed adult society reacting to youth born in the 2020s who are augmented and elevated by their relationship with human/computer integration. The blend of human/computer interactivity is in stark contrast to the previous generations who relate to technology as something to use.
There are several main characters in the novel and one is a global singer/songwriter/composer. Jasmine has graciously accepted my request for in inquiry/a discussion into the life of a fourteen-year-old's experience of life with a full blown career.
I am interested in both her playfulness, her capacity to get into a zone and the respect and dignity afforded to a virtuoso by adults. Maybe her Mum might be willing to get involved too, as she must let go, as this incredible independent young woman embarks on a brilliant career as a world class artist!
