I replaced TVR with Erotica because Erotica is mostly a sexual album, while TVR is more diverse so it'd be harder to describe it to the contestants or even find a proper way to judge if the contestant that chose it represented it. I guess that makes sense. Part of what made TVR so great was the extreme diversity. She wrote it out of depression and just let it all pour out. I still think RN its socially conscious themes could work but I get it.

My initial keywords for RN was social commentary, empowerming and anthemic. But then I already had Lauryn and AF for social commentary and Gaga for empowering and "anthemic" is not a very specific term, so I couldn't use it

If I was a popular artist (or even an indie one) I would take every chance I get to talk about how Janet and Mariah have influenced me. I think people would be a little judgemental at first given that I'm a male artist so I'm obliged to say the same "Michael and Prince blah blah now watch me try to moonwalk" but I don't care.
Those two, Bey, Drake, and some indie faves like Arcade Fire would be my biggest inspirations if I could ever be an actual musician.
