Teenage Dream is not katy's best song, no; however, it IS her best song that is a single.
Thinking Of You, I'm Still Breathing, The One That Got Away, Wide Awake, By The Grace Of God (sans that hideous military beat added to the chorus), and Choose Your Battles are in the top 10 of her best songs. see, when she just shows genuine emotion, that is ALWAYS when the majority of her true fanbase (and not the easily-swayed GP) loves her most. idk why she thinks people want Birthdays, TIHWDs, and other ******** pop garbage songs like those. and Dark Horse is nice, it's great and arguably her biggest hit, BUT do we really want her to further explore trap?
same with WOA: good song, but do you want an album full of house/dance? lord no.
she needs a rockier edge. pop rock at its finest. more acoustic and electric guitars, and real drum beats and percussion. no electronic synthy noise; that's not real music. and more raspy, raw, and authentic vocals. more crafty, clever and quirky lyrics. no pop candy fluff that was TD, and no trash that was Prism. just genuinely good pop music.
